Celebrity Dad Costumes

We hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween. We saw some killer costumes on Facebook and on the streets – and even saw some celebrities getting dressed up with their kids.

There weren’t many celebrity dads tweeting pics of themselves with their kids, but here’s a couple of our favorites.

Shaq and Panda

There’s tons of dads out there that love to frequent Parenting.com – why, with their mom-leaning content, their dad section that’s still got wet paint on it (and partially written by moms), and their relation to NickMom, it’s totally a haven for dads. Okay, not really, but I digress.

Parenting.com‘s Brian got a chance to interview Shaquille O’Neal about fatherhood – strangely enough, at a Tupperware event.

This last week, pictures emerged of rapper Snoop Dogg smoking the stickiest of icky with his son, Corde Calvin Broadus. But these weren’t leaked pictures from a friend’s cellphone or snapped by paparazzi – the young Broadus himself tweeted them from his account, @SpankyDanky.

Snoop Dogg, who just this year, released a book printed on rolling papers, defended it, asking in a Hollywood Reporter cover story “What better way to [learn] than from the master?” The pictures show Broadus and son smoking together, and even one of Corde lighting his father’s two-foot bong.

Around The Internets

This pic came from Reddit user BravoBobby, who titled the photo, “My friend has been babysitting for the Foo Fighters in Europe this summer, tonight she us sent this.”

It’s awesome seeing rock star dads taking time with their kids – even while on tour.

Toby Keith Is a Good Dad Says Daughter

Toby and Krystal Keith

Country star Toby Keith has a successful career in country music, but one of his three children recently said he’s also been a successful dad.

Aspiring country singer, Krystal Keith – who has sung with her father on stage before – told California country radio station K-FROG last Friday that Toby was always a really attentive and present father.

Usher

R&B singer Usher Raymond has been in the news this week because of a custody battle with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster Raymond. The Hotlanta Atlanta court battle began a couple of days ago, and hit its media frenzy pinnacle today when all news sources reported that Raymond cried while on the stand.

Raymond married Tameka Foster in 2007, and the couple divorced two years later. They have two children together; Usher Raymond V (4) and Naviyd Ely Raymond (3). Foster is seeking full custody of the children, and Raymond is looking to level out custody between the two parents.

Amanda Bynes was at L.A.’s Greystone Manor Supperclub Thursday night before she was cited for investigation of DUI on Friday. I don’t know if you’ve seen pictures from inside Greystone Manor but that sh*t is ridiculous – you’d look foolish if you weren’t drinking where party rock is in the house (psst – that song is about cocaine).

Bynes’s father, Rick, is going on record saying, ”She was not drunk. I was told that she blew a zero on the Breathalyzer. She didn’t have a single drink that night. My daughter doesn’t drink.” In a related line of questioning, Rick went on to say, “She is a good girl. She just chooses not to work, and because of that, people go after her.”

I give 8-bit props to Rick for standing by his daughter. Whether she was unable to drive, it sounds like he really believes her. And hey that’s cool. I’d probably do the same thing if I was clueless into the life of my celebrity daughter. I would want to sleep at night believing that I raised a “good girl”.

Unfortunately I know all about being 26 (a distant 6 years ago for me) and I’m pretty sure her parents haven’t been allowed full access into her private life for a while now. Take no work + posh treatment + money + attention and you’ve got the winning combo breaker for any celebrity within the TMZ.

According to a source from People, she ”seemed fine to drive” when she left the Standard Hotel in West Hollywood – where she is a regular and had dinner Thursday night before her arrest. She had alcohol, but “never seemed drunk,” the source says.

Looks like next harvest will be even better.

We’ve been talking about this one on Twitter, but it deserves a proper OMFG here. Alicia Silverstone, who’s most known for the movie “Clueless” (but we prefer remembering her as Batgirl in the trainwreck “Batman & Robin“), posted a video on her site, The Kind Life, of her baby-birding food to her son.

You know, as in she-chews-it-up-then-spits-it-into-his-mouth. Or, premastication, for you smart types. Or, The Hunger Games, if you prefer.
