Toby Keith Is a Good Dad Says Daughter

Toby and Krystal Keith

Country star Toby Keith has a successful career in country music, but one of his three children recently said he’s also been a successful dad.

Aspiring country singer, Krystal Keith – who has sung with her father on stage before – told California country radio station K-FROG last Friday that Toby was always a really attentive and present father.

Krystal said that the kids would never notice when Toby was away on tours, and the kids never missed out on “tickle time.”

In her Oklahoma high school, most kids didn’t know who Toby Keith was, or weren’t star-struck, Krystal told K-FROG. Oklahoma, she said, was “not like going to school in Nashville where everyone wants to meet someone famous.”

ZING! Take that, Nashville!

I know this is a VERY generalist statement, but country music is usually about family values – granted, sometimes bad ones, but at least there is sentiment in a lot of country so it doesn’t surprise me that there would be good parents, along with the poor ones in that field…more than Hollywood for sure!

There’s also a really strong sentiment for the value of dad, it would seem. There’s a very interesting conversation somewhere in that topic: is it because that country segment has more traditional family roles where dad works and mom takes care of the family? Or is it just because the music is pro-dad, so it influences opinion?
