PQotW: At What Age Do Kids Stop Napping?

naptime

This week’s Podcast Question of the Week is about naps:

At what age do kids stop napping?

Every parent loves naptime. Your kid gets a recharge, you get some much-needed alone-time, and the screaming cartoons are turned off the television. But eventually, kids grow out of their naps. What age do they get too big for a nap?

Some people say 2 years old. Some say 3. Some let them nap until preschool starts. Do you wean them out of a nap or do you cut them off out of necessity at a certain age?

We want to know! Leave your answer in the comments here and we’ll read some of your answers on our podcast! Be sure to watch on Tuesday, 7/17.

I can sometimes get my 8.5 year old to nap still when home on weekends and in the summer.  My 5-year-old still takes one every day and when she doesn’t, it becomes apparent that she still needs them.  Much like childhood in general, I’m in no rush to get past this stage of their life…and not only because I’m usually napping beside them!
