In NYC public elementary schools are numbered, but each begins with PS (Zach was correct: it stands for Public School).  PS10 happens to be in Park Slope, Brooklyn (where my sister lived for a bunch of years).  Park Slope is a CrAzY neighborhood, with high-class wacko parents, and very hippy-organic-like people.  I went to PS41 in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. (NYC has 5 boroughs: Manhattan, Queens, Bronx, Staten Island and Brooklyn).  Middle School when I was in the city started with JHS (Junior High School) but I don’t know if they still do (I went to JHS104 in mid-town).  And of course, High Schools start with HS (guess what THAT stands for)  ;)   I attended 8th grade at PPAS, in the same building as HS17 on 49th between 8th and 9th Ave, so its 1 block north of Times Square.

I LOVE the shaved cat —>BEST part of the show!   By the way, My hubby has the same razor as Zach and I totally use it when he’s not looking.  Fits in girl hands too.

    LOL!!

I watched the episode and was listening to the Phillip Norelco section and Zach mentioned that plucking nose hairs hurt and it made me laugh out loud. I have immense sympathy and compassion for your pain. I am a little old fashion myself and would much rather use small scissors to prevent the pain and possible tears.

I loved the section on Phillip Norelco.  Many years ago I used an electric razor and never was happy with the results. I have a beard that makes me have to shave twice a day (if I don’t want a 3 o’clock shadow.) Until last year I always used disposable razors and still wasn’t as happy with the results. I started reading about shaving and decided to go back in time and try a DE Razor.

In my research (yes, I am actually dumb enough or smart depending on how you look at it) I discovered that most of the world still used DE or single blade razors, not disposables. I wondered if there was something to this and decided to find out. I purchased a cheap one initially and some blades (50 blades for 8$ on Amazon) I found out that my grandfather might have known best and I finally got the closest and best shave I believe I ever have had. I  have since upgraded my razor and purchased a 1950′s Gillette Superspeed Safety Razor from e-bay.

The P.S. 10 story…. first thank you for your mention of me (okay maybe I am long winded in my responses but I generally try to leave little room for drama)

As a social worker that worked with children never underestimate what children know. I have seen 3-year-olds know more about sex than some adults will ever know. Children are always listening to us. They never stop listening because it is part of the way they learn. Some children will ask questions and others will just listen until they have enough information to figure it out on their own.

Yes, there are some children that honestly don’t care but the vast majority do.  The children I have worked with often knew more about the world than most adults. Children today are very technologically advanced and they will share with each other what they know. Just remember that information is readily available and they will tweet, facebook, SMS each other as quickly as possible!

Hey, just had a chance to watch.

I really didn’t feel I went after the dads. I believe–and that’s what I told Doug and Clay when I was commenting on the DadLabs show–that they should use their in-status now to try to really make a difference, and that unlike me (and you), they should use their PR contacts to follow up. Philips doesn’t care about me, but it should care about the dads they hired, and I believe these dads have a responsibility to follow up. I never called them sell-outs. I was very careful not to do that.

What happened with Whit, was that he was offended by me calling the campaign a sham. He took it personally, because he made a very sincere video, and here I was calling it a sham. I tried to make it clear that the sham comment was about the marketing and not the actual video, and I think he eventually understood what I meant. I don’t think any of the other guys was upset with me–they disagreed, but they didn’t see me as their enemy the way Whit did (and hopefully doesn’t anymore).

Also, Whit’s comment that I’ve been criticizing him and the other dads for weeks wasn’t exactly right. I let it go until I watched your podcast and you mentioned it and you mentioned me… so I felt I had to answer. He found the tweet, and it quickly escalated.

In his defense, he’s also not the first DadCentric to call me a dick. Jason has been doing that for years. He’s also the only one blocking me on Twitter.

And why are you always calling me by my full name? I feel like I’m in the principal’s office!
