Don’t Hire Your Brother to Watch Your Kid
Around The Internets

Babysitting Uncle

Though fathers are making great strides in equal parenting rights and rehabbing their image in the media, uncles…just aren’t on the same mission.

Take Reddit user daedalus_78 for example. His bro asked him to babysit his daughter for him…and…well…

Babysitting Uncle

Atta boy.

Poor Reddit couldn’t decide if this guy deserved a medal or a vasectomy.

So, ladies and gentlemen, please remember: Uncle Tommy doesn’t have a kid yet for a reason. You might just want to pony up the $12/hour for the girl down the street studying early childhood development in the local junior college.

(Reddit user Hopenstein - the father of the girl – commented and had no problem with his brother’s rig. If he’s cool, we’re cool, nawmean?)

In his defense, it does look pretty hot by that swing set.

That’s funny. I’m as conflicted as Reddit, I’m afraid… As much as kids need a smiling face, I’d be able to push my kids on the swing a lot longer if I were as clever as this guy.

Totally. As long as it’s not HIS kid, I kind of feel like this dude should be a contractor for making parent-friendly parks.

I think this is awesome.  and my brother is a totally fun babysitter.  Its funny, he was hired by my sister to be her manny for a few months, spending ALL day every day with her 2 year old. They had a LOT of fun and no one was seriously injured.  I trust my brother with my kids (8 and 6) as long as his girlfriend is there too! Since they’re older, he lets them do more than he should. He is fun and responsible for their personal safety (seat belts, sunscreen, etc) BUT the wellbeing of others around them, not so much!  He was playing catch with them with baseballs, and within minutes the rear windshield of my car was completely gone.  He’s TOO much fun and junk gets broken, but the kids are always safe (and tired, when they get home).
